The purpose of writing in Forensic Science is to take notes and write observations on their work. For example, when forensic scientists work on active crime scenes they bring a notepad and a pen to write a statement of the description of the crime scene and the evidence they found. They have to take very detailed and accurate notes because oftentimes it will help support their claim when they attend court for murder cases and other cases as well. Writing also helps forensic scientists stay organized on their task and the work they completed. Forensic scientists have strict deadlines and schedules so writing down their tasks and important information helps them to be on top of things and stay organized.

                Another purpose for writing as a forensic scientist is for training and research purposes. When you have newcomers on the job you can use your notes and your notetaking skills to help train them so they can write effective information and have it been accurate. You're passing down your skills to other young forensic scientists who might need it along the way. If someone doesn't have good writing skills, they can make crucial mistakes that can lead to big problems, so by training others and showing them writing skills it can benefit them in many ways.
